Quick answer

Orchestrix builds a custom 5-page website for UK small businesses on a £50-a-month plan over a 24-month minimum. The build is included; there is no deposit and no setup fee. £1,200 total over the term, hosting and small edits inside the price. The domain is registered in your name from day one and a free export is available if you leave. The cost is roughly a quarter of the typical UK agency quote because there is no agency stack between the work and you.

The maths, side by side

£4,000 quote or £50 a month.

80 months of the £50 plan equals one £4,000 agency quote. Over the lifetime of a small business, the monthly plan is substantially cheaper.

UK web design agency
Up front · £3,000 to £5,000
Monthly · £30 to £100 hosting
24 months · £3,720 to £7,400
5 years · £4,800 to £11,000

Monthly · £50
24 months · £1,200

Monthly · £15 to £35
24 months · £360 to £840
5 years · £900 to £2,100

5-year total assumes the plan renews at the same rate after month 24 (it renews in 12-month terms). The £50 a month is fixed for the minimum term and any later change requires 60 days’ written notice before a renewal, with the option to leave at the end of the current term if the rate changes.

The honest framing

Three reasons £50 works.

  1. 01No agency stack

No account manager, no project manager, no designer-to-developer handoff. The same small team scopes, designs, builds, and hosts. That removes roughly £2,000 to £3,500 of overhead from a typical agency quote.

  2. 02Shared hosting built for the job

The hosting tier under the £50 plan is shared UK infrastructure tuned for fast 5-page sites. It is not the same product as our managed hosting for custom applications, which run on their own server. Different price because it is genuinely a different product.

  3. 03A 24-month commitment that earns its keep

Without the 24-month minimum, we'd lose money on every build. The minimum term is what makes the free build commercially viable: the monthly fee recovers the up-front cost over the period. After the term, the plan renews in 12-month terms at the same rate.

The full picture of what the plan includes, and the custom build track for anything bigger, lives on the websites page.

Common questions

What people ask at the call.

Is £50 a month all I pay?
Yes, for the standard plan. £50 a month for 24 months covers the build, UK hosting, SSL, domain registration, monthly backups, monitoring, and small content edits. Orchestrix is not VAT-registered, so £50 is the actual amount collected each month. Anything outside the standard scope (online payments, new pages beyond five, custom integrations) is quoted separately.
How does £50 a month compare to a £4,000 agency quote?
A £4,000 agency quote plus £30 to £100 a month hosting is £4,720 to £6,400 over 24 months. This plan is £1,200 over the same 24 months. The build standard is comparable; the difference is a small team doing the whole job vs an agency stack with account managers, project managers, and a designer-to-developer handoff. That overhead is what you're not paying for.
What happens after 24 months?
The plan renews in 12-month terms at the same £50 rate. Stay, or give 30 days' notice before a renewal to leave at the end of the term and take the free export with you. No price rises are baked in for the minimum term, and any later rate change comes with 60 days' written notice before a renewal.
Can I leave before 24 months if I need to?
Yes. The remaining months at £50 each become payable in a single settlement on cancellation. No other penalty. A full export of the site is delivered within 5 working days of settlement. The minimum term is what makes the free build economically possible.
Why monthly instead of up front?
Because a £3,000 to £5,000 up-front number stops a lot of small businesses from getting a real website at all. They end up on Wix, on a free builder, or with no site. Moving the cost from up front to monthly, underwritten by a 24-month plan, lets us build for businesses that would otherwise be priced out. The work is the same; the payment shape isn't.
